School Fundraising Events
There are lots of ways that your school could get involved or support Cecily's Fund. We have suggested a few ideas here but thinking up your own ideas can be a good challenge and also great fun! There are lots more fundraising ideas in the Fundraising Guide. If you would like to run an event or fundraise for Cecily's Fund and would like advice on how to go about it please do not hesitate to contact us. If you are organising an event for us, we can often arrange to come and speak to your school at an assembly or in class.
Non-Uniform Day
If your school has a uniform, you could organise a non-uniform day when pupils pay £1 to come to school in their own clothes. King Edward VI Aston School did just this and raised over £1220!
Sponsored Walks, Runs and Swims
Help us walk 10,000 miles! Cokethorpe Junior School took up the 10,000 Mile Challenge and raised over £4620 by collectively walking 372.5 miles for Cecily's Fund!
Hunger Lunch
St Edward's School in Oxford organised a hunger lunch. Pupils had an assembly about Cecily's Fund's work and then had just soup, bread and fruit for one lunch, with the savings going to Cecily's Fund. A very thoughtful and apt fundraising idea.
Skip a snack day
It costs just £1 per month to provide a nutritious daily meal for a child at Bwafwano Community School in Lusaka. Your school or class could decide to 'skip a snack' such as a bag of crisps or a chocolate bar for a day or a week and donate the savings.
Cake Sales
Pupils in Jack Hunt School, Peterborough, held several cake sales making home-baked treats to sell to students and staff at break.
Events
Put on a fashion or talent show, concert, end of year prom, summer fete or sports competition. The possibilities are endless!
Whatever you decide to do, we would love to hear all about it!

How your college or university could get involved
RAG
Many universities have RAG Societies, and charities are usually put forward by current students. The events taking place are organised by the individual RAG team but can include things like RAIDS (street collections), Hitches or Prison Breaks (getting as far away from the university as possible without paying a penny!), concerts and pub quizzes. We are lucky enough to have been supported by some RAG's over recent years so if you are at uni, or are going off to college soon please consider putting Cecily's Fund forward for support from your RAG Society!
Exeter University Support -
Exeter University RAG topped off a fantastic year of fundraising with a presentation party for the charities they support. Cecily's Fund is very lucky to be one of those charities! Exeter students donated over £4,600 this year, a great achievement. Thanks to Exeter RAG for all your hard work.
Cambridge University SAFE -
Many thanks, once again, to all at Cambridge SAFE. This year the SAFE Society have supported our Peer Health Education programme which will help to pay for these inspirational young people to learn about health issues and deliver vital information sessions to their peers in schools in and around Kitwe.
Challenges
A fantastic way to have fun and raise money in a group or on your own. We offer a wide range of events in the UK such as parachute jumps, guaranteed places on running events like the London 10K run or the London to Paris Bike Ride challenge. We now also offer a fantastic range of overseas Adventure Challenges such as the infamous Mount Kilimanjaro summit climb and even a ski and snowboard challenge! Find out more
Volunteering
Outside term time we often have volunteering opportunities in the office, at events or even working on a project from your own home. If you have any time to give, whether it's just a few hours or a few weeks, we would love to hear from you. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us with some brief information about your skills and interests.
