Cecily’s Fund... is hosting another gala opera evening on 19th June.
This is the seventh year that Diva Opera, one of Britain’s leading chamber opera companies, has performed in the region to help raise money for Cecily’s Fund.
This year Diva Opera will be performing Verdi’s Falstaff in a marquee in the grounds (by Capability Brown) of Wotton House (by John Soane), once home to the Dukes of Buckingham.

| Oxfordshire runner singlehandedly raises over £11,000 so far for Zambian orphans |
New Yatt resident, Nick Moglia, is running in the London Marathon on April 25th to raise sponsorship to help orphans in Zambia to go to school. Nick, 50, is Group Managing Director of Zycko, a Cirencester-based IT company.
“I started my 16 week training schedule on January 4th, and this will see me cover over 700 miles. My target time is an ambitious 3 hours15 minutes.”

| Zambian orphan who helps thousands of youngsters to stay safe from HIV visits Oxford, May 7th – 21st |
After Zambian Paul Kasoka lost his father, his mother could no longer afford to send him to school. He was rescued by Oxfordshire-based charity, Cecily’s Fund, who provided him with support to complete his secondary school education.
Paul is now a charismatic and inspiring role model for Zambia’s many orphans and vulnerable children and has helped to train over 150 others to overcome their perceived inferior status in Zambian society to become positive role models too.
Paul will be in the UK from May 7th – which is World AIDS Orphan Day – until May 21st and will be available for talks, workshops and media interviews.

| September 26th: Zambian President Rubiah Banda in meeting with Cecily's Fund US representative. |
On September 26th Zambian President, Rupiah Banda, met with Cecily’s Fund’s US representative, Sue Skaf, in New York. They discussed the work of Cecily’s Fund in supporting the education of nearly 10,000 vulnerable children and young people in school and college. Cecily’s Fund is the largest non-governmental facilitator of education in Zambia. The President said "Thank you so much for all you are doing in Zambia, we greatly appreciate it. Please thank Cecily's parents on my behalf."
