Welcome to our report for July 2010 to December 2011. It's a positive time for Cecily's Fund, despite the economic downturn. We are proud of what we achieve with our partners in Zambia, bringing hope to thousands of Zambian children. We are maintaining our core programmes and are enhancing these wherever possible, in line with our five year strategy. Highlights for me include: 

• Continuing to support 8,285 orphans1 to access lifesaving education. 
• 15 students graduating from teacher training college in 2011. 
• Launching a Friends Scheme, to attract and reward loyal supporters. 
• Two new trustees with experience of Zambia and international development - Chola O'Brien and Charlie Miller. 
• Simon Holliday's cross channel swim for Cecily's Fund, in waves up to three metres high! 

2012 began on a strong note, with the outstanding news of a three year grant from Comic Relief. This recognition, and the opportunity it brings, would not have been possible without the sustained hard work of staff past and present, or without the commitment and encouragement of our wonderful supporters and volunteers in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, and the USA. My heartfelt thanks are due to all. Finally, thank you to our retiring trustee, Sheila Phillips, who has been involved since we started. Sheila will continue to support our work as an associate, advisor and friend flying the flag for Cecily's Fund.
