YOU BUSINESS CAN HELP
Your business can make a huge difference to the lives of orphaned children in Zambia. If you would like to support Cecily’s Fund or find out more, please contact us.
Cecily's Fund is a small charity so your company and your staff will really be able to see the tangible difference you can make to the lives of needy children in Zambia. We can arrange to come and meet you personally and to present the work of Cecily’s Fund to you or to your team. We can also discuss how we can work together to meet your interests and requirements. Each year, we invite some of our supporters to join us on a trip to Zambia. You can visit the programmes for yourself and see the impact of your donation first hand.

ABF Ingredients
ABF Ingredients and the ABFI Group of Companies have been supporting Cecily's Fund since 2007. So far, the various companies and their staff have raised over £10,600 with many wonderful fundraising events. The highlight was an exclusive dinner cruise on a paddle steamer in New Orleans with a silent auction (pictured below right) which raised nearly £4,500. Other events which helped towards this wonderful sum include an Easter basket raffle, inter-office penny war, bake sales and the internal promotion of a Payroll Giving scheme. www.abfingredients.com
British Airways
British Airways Community Investment have recently granted Cecily's Fund three complementary return flights to Lusaka. Cecily's Fund prides itself on its high level of accountability and regular monitoring visits to Zambia are an important part of our procedure. We monitor the current programmes to ensure they are running smoothly and to budget. We also use this opportunity to review the success of the programmes, make recommendations for improvements and work with our partners to develop the programmes. The money we save on flights will enable us to fund 90 children through primary school for a year. Thank you BA. www.ba.com
Mattel
Mattel Children's Foundation is supporting Cecily’s Fund this year through its “International Grants Program”. Mattel is helping us to educate Zambian orphaned and vulnerable children at primary school level. Mattel’s extremely generous grant of $25,000 is supporting 500 children in primary school this year. We provide these disadvantaged children with uniforms, shoes, books and pens and make a contribution towards the running costs of the schools. We also monitor the children’s progress and ensure that they receive the necessary guidance and support to do well in school. Thank you Mattel for your support.
Mattel state that “We believe it is our responsibility, as the largest toy manufacturer in the world, to lead the way in making a difference in the lives of children. We do that through our safe and reliable products as well as by giving back to our communities through our philanthropic programs” For more information, please go to: www.mattel.com

Charity of the Year
Could you adopt Cecily’s Fund as your charity of the year? One of the best ways for a company to show their corporate social responsibility is through its workforce. A charity of the year relationship can be a successful tool for team building and boosting staff morale, and it can provide some of the most valuable returns through enhanced motivation, loyalty and staff development.
You might like to fundraise for a particular project or aim to support a specific number of children. Whatever your aims, we can provide fundraising packs, materials, ideas and support.
Payroll Giving – Give As You Earn
How does it work?
You can give directly from your pre-tax salary, so money that would normally go to the taxman goes to charity instead. You decide how much you want to give each month and your donation comes out of your pay packet before the taxman touches it.
What are the benefits?
Cecily’s Fund benefits because it provides us with a regular income and cuts our admin costs. You benefit because you don’t pay any tax on the donations you make. If you’re a basic rate taxpayer, a gift of £5 actually costs you only £4. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, a gift costing you £6 is worth £10 to the charity.

Sponsorship
Charity sponsorship can be a justifiable part of your marketing strategy, bringing branding and media coverage opportunities. It will also help communicate your company as a good corporate citizen.
Sponsor a project: There are many ways to support our work in Zambia. You could support one of our current programmes or contact us to find out about new projects. We have one new capital project that we are looking to fund at Bwafwano community school. The school has a classroom with open sides which is open to the elements - not ideal in the rainy season! The total budget for the materials and labour is about £6,800. We would love to hear from you if you would like to raise funds for this.
Sponsor a publication: Our annual report, newsletters, programme updates and DVD’s are sent to 3,000 people across the world.
Sponsor an event: Our Opera is an exclusive, professionally staged black tie event in the Cotswolds. Packages range from sponsorship of the entire event, to sponsoring a table (including tickets) or the wine. The Opera is a great corporate hospitality opportunity too.
Sponsor our T-Shirts: We send T-shirts to all our individual fundraisers and those in schools, universities, churches and companies in the UK, USA and Switzerland. Get your company noticed for all the right reasons and ask about our sponsorship package.
Organise an event: Devise and host an event in aid of Cecily’s Fund. This could be anything from a masked ball to a corporate golf day. Events are a great way to entertain clients, motivate staff and raise money. You may already organise an annual event such as a Christmas party which could double up as a great opportunity to support Cecily’s Fund. We can help you get publicity for your event in the local papers - good coverage for your business.
Matched Giving
A practical way to encourage your workforce is to match fund their efforts and rewarding them for their generosity. It boosts morale and encourages team building. Another benefit is a reduced tax bill – you don’t have to pay Corporation Tax on the money you use to match employee giving.

Employee Involvement
Use the Internet
Online fundraising is a great way to fundraise efficiently. It's easy to set up a personalised online fundraising page by using www.justgiving.com (or www.firstgiving.com in the USA). Pages can be used to collect donations for any event or occasion.
Donations
Donations are always very gratefully received and much appreciated. Companies (and unincorporated associations) can claim tax relief for qualifying donations to UK charities. See www.hmrc.gov.uk for more information.
Cecily's Fund Business Christmas Cards
Do you send out business Christmas cards to your clients? You can choose personalised cards that benefit Cecily's Fund. Cards can be personalised and Cecily's Fund will receive 20p for every card bought. Last year this scheme enabled us to send an extra 40 orphans to primary school. Click here to go to the cards website and browse cards or place your order.
Wish List – Gifts in Kind
Could your company support Cecily’s Fund by donating items or equipment? We have a small office in Oxfordshire and are often in need of equipment to keep us running at full efficiency! We generally do not send items out to Zambia from the UK as it's usually cheaper to purchase goods in Zambia and doing this also supports the local economy. It does depend on the item in question though, so please get in touch if you have anything that you would like to donate.
There are lots of other ways that you could support our work. For example, we need help with replicating our DVD and we would welcome corporate support with printing and franking services. Please contact us if you have anything you would like to donate or would like to find out more.
