Accountability
Cecily's Fund prides itself on its high level of accountability. We work hard to ensure the money we send out to Zambia is used as promised and that systems are in place that would enable anyone to trace a donation through our UK office to a child in a classroom in Zambia.
We ask all our partners to provide us with annual audited accounts. We submitted ourselves in the UK to a full audit for the first time in summer 2005 and have done so each year since then. We have also been able to benefit from some free consultancy, which we have used to strengthen our organisational systems in the UK office.
Formal audits are complemented by regular monitoring visits by Cecily's Fund staff and trustees to Zambia.
We believe that our donors should know about the things we have struggled with, as well as our successes, and all supporters receive an annual report from us each year. Donors are also welcome to attend Cecily's Day, our informal annual general meeting and supporters' picnic at the chairman's house in Oxfordshire.
