Vietnam - Northern Village Trek

The Pu Luong - Cuc Phuong limestone landscape of Northern Vietnam is an area of outstanding beauty. You will see little of other tourists, as not many venture as far off the beaten track as we do.
This five-day trek takes you through rice paddies, lush forests and to picturesque villages. Part of the route follows the Ho Chi Minh trail. You will experience first-hand the everyday life and culture of the local Thai and Muong people by spending each night in village 'homestay' accommodation.
There will also be time to visit bustling, colonial Hanoi, which provides a wonderful contrast to the tranquil remoteness of the hiking.
Each day, you will be walking for an average of 6 to 8 hours. The terrain varies from narrow woodland tracks to unpaved, barely-used roads. There are some strenuous climbs and descents but, with the correct amount of preparation, most people should be able to undertake this trip. Training guidelines are provided to help you get the most out of the expedition.
Some people do take part with friends and family but most people come along on their own. As such, it is a great chance to meet some new and interesting people who are, like you, also doing something amazing to support a good cause.
How much does it cost?
You just have to pay the registration fee: £399. We will cover the rest, providing you raise a minimum of £3,000 in sponsorship.
Although it may sound like a large amount, please do not be put off: there are many ways to raise the money! We will be happy to give you as much support and advice as you need. It is often easier than you think once you get started, so long as you allow yourself plenty of time to reach the target.
Of the £3,000 you raise, £1,200 covers the costs of the trip while £1,800 (and anything you raise over the minimum sponsorship level) will go to Cecily's Fund. The money that goes to Cecily's Fund is enough to pay for the education of 36 secondary-school children in Zambia for a whole year!
What does the cost include?
The cost includes flights, internal travel, accommodation, most meals, guides, cooks, vehicles to transport your luggage and medical support. Basically, it includes everything you need for a safe and incredible eight days!
