Vietnam - Cycle the Remote North

With hundreds of miles of unspoilt, open countryside, Vietnam is a truly beautiful place. If you enjoy cycling and love the outdoors then this trip really is for you.

During the eleven days which you will spend in Vietnam, you will have the opportunity to explore the northern part of this incredibly diverse country. You will pass through spectacular landscape of karst limestone cliffs and lush jungle, encountering traditional tribal communities and ancient sites. By contrast, you will also have time to explore bustling Hanoi.

The challenge includes eight days of cycling. Typically, you will spend between 6 and 7 hours in the saddle each day, covering daily distances of between 60 and 110km.

This ride is graded as 'tough', so you should be prepared for some demanding routes, with hard climbs, but also some great descents! However, most people should be able to enjoy this challenge, if enough time is allowed to train beforehand. Full training guidelines are provided to help you get the most out of this adventure.

Some people do take part with friends and family, but most people come along on their own. As such, it is a great chance to meet some new and interesting people who are, like you, also doing something amazing to support a good cause.

How much does it cost?

You just have to pay the registration fee - £399. We will cover the rest of the costs, providing that you raise a minimum of £3,250 in sponsorship.

Although this may sound a large amount of money, please do not be put off: there are many ways to raise it! We will be happy to give you as much support and advice as you need. It is easier than you think once you get started. In fact, most people end up raising more than the minimum!

Of the £3,250 you raise, £1300 covers the costs of the trip while £1,950 (and anything you raise over the minimum sponsorship level) will go to Cecily's Fund. The money that goes to Cecily's Fund is enough to pay for the education of 39 secondary school children in Zambia for a whole year - so it really will make a huge difference!

What does the cost include?

The cost includes flights, internal travel, accommodation, most meals, mountain bike hire, guides, medical support and support vehicles to carry your luggage. Basically, it includes everything you need for a safe and enjoyable eleven days!
