London to Paris Bike Ride
Contact us for dates!
This 5-day charity challenge is a great way to see the sights of London, Paris and all the glorious countryside in between! Starting from London, four days of cycling will take you through beautiful and historical villages, and allow you to see some of the most famous landmarks in England and France.
You will be in the saddle for around 6-8 hours a day and cover around 300 miles, but there will be plenty of opportunities to take breaks, enjoy the local hospitality and sample French cuisine and culture. Then after 4 days of pedalling your bike, you can enjoy a day in Paris doing whatever you please!
You don't need to be a fitness fanatic to enjoy this challenge - many people who take part have never done anything like it before. Some people sign up with friends or family, but the majority of people come on their own. This could be a great way to make new friends and raise money for Cecily's Fund.
What does it cost?
All you will have to pay is a £99 registration fee. We will pay for the rest on the basis that you raise a minimum of £1500 in sponsorship. It sounds like a lot (and it is a lot in Zambia) but you will find that it is perfectly possible. We will ensure you have the help and advice you need to reach your fundraising target. Of the £1500 you raise, £900 (i.e. 60%) will go to Cecily's Fund, as will every penny that you raise above the £1500 minimum. Your trip will raise enough for us to train an orphan school-leaver as a health educator and send him or her into schools for a whole year, to run lessons about how to avoid AIDS.
What does the cost include?
The cost includes the ferry to France on day 1; Eurostar back to England on day 5; hotel accomodation; meals (except lunch and dinner on day 5); support vehicle and mechanics; guides; and medical support. In short, everything you need for a safe and amazing 5 days.
Sounds amazing! How do I join?
